Did You Fail The Mass Inspection? And Why?????

Only difference from last year is the exhaust

 

I never care about them. 3rd gens dont have flaps from the factory same as half the chevys nowadays so screw it.

 

Makes sense to me I put them on just for inspection then take them off

 

At let's begin just got pulled in.

 

And out passed no problem

 

8 minutes I was in with my normal guy.

 

Came home ripped the mud flaps off.

 

That’s good news! So obviously no issue with the exhaust? He even question it?

 

I was in for 8 minutes and 3 of it was saying how much he liked my truck. Didn't say a word about anything.

 

Passed today. Ended up putting the stock mud flaps on, but I asked the guy at the shop and he said I would pass without them. Also, asked about if I had an aftermarket exhaust, he said as long as its not obnoxiously loud, I'd be fine.

 

Yup

 

Now rip those mud flaps off

 

Plan on doing that right after work, then shipping them back to Amazon!

 

Just keep them in the garage as an in case

 

Was thinking that too, but straight up asked the guy if I needed them to pass and he no. I've read somewhere that they're required, but he said it would be fine. Since I ordered them new, (sold originals) I might just send back. Also was looking at some of the newer Tacoma's and some don't even come with mud flaps anymore.

 

Different story but the Rav4 doesn't. My wife's 2005 had them and her 2014 we just got this summer didn't..we did buy both used however.

FWIW, both vehicles had larger tires and sit higher than my Tacoma does.

 

Anyone ever have any issues with smoke or black tail lights?

I still have the stock TRD OR tail lights right now, but was looking to put on some aftermarket lights
