Honestly the only reason, and Imean ONLY reason I was willing to move back here was for my wife’s family but the decision makers of this state make it so difficult to actually live here comfortably. Or maybe it’s just me who thinks that.

That's some Big Brother Bullshit. We have inspections in Texas but nothing like the draconian bs it appears is coming in Mass.

Typical government program: more money paid for less ROI for the consumer and no one wants it. The BS trifecta.

My intentions were to move to North Carolina or Virginia. Since we both wanted to live close to my wife’s family I wanted to move to New Hampshire badly. But clearly I lost that battle haha

Nothing has changed with the laws. What’s changed is people are more afraid to pass something now that they are watching. The inspection laws are very vauge on many things, which leaves it up to the inspector.
I’ve been asking all the inspectors I know about how they will deal with lifted trucks and most say if it doesn’t look to high it will be fine. 4wd trucks can be lifted mechanically the sum of wheel base x wheel track / 2200. Plus you can go up in tire size the same amount. That’s easy to figure out but how do you know what the vehicle was stock height to measure how lifted it is? It says the state will periodically send updated measurements. In 10+ years of being an inspector I’ve never seen said book nor has anyone else I’ve talked to.

I figured they are going to crack down on license plate condition and location now that the pike has gone to pay by plate. Give it a few years and all the major highways will be the same way. The state can never take enough money from us for there frivolous spending.

Shit hawaii will fail you for having a decal on your back window and on my island you need a reconstruction permit to do anything to your vehicle that isn’t stock.

My inspections up in February, my mud flaps are gone, the tires slightly stick out of the wheel wells and i have a 2" lift kit. Ebay headlights and tail lights with leds. Used to just be able to stroll into the inspection place give em 30 bucks and they would get ya a sticker no problem. "Those offroad lights as fogs bug people?" NOPE okay you pass. Gonna miss the simple times of mass inspections. Regarding lift height though im pretty sure 102 inches is the height limit and as long as the lights are SAE compliant they should be okay. But i see what everyones saying about all the people watching and stuff, its gonna put pressure on inspectors and they will just fail everything.
