Ugh.... Massachusetts, my inspection is up this December. My truck is pretty much stock. Only thing I have on it other than what came from the plant is Pro Fog lights , TRD air filter, and side steps.

So I know it will pass just fine. It now makes me think of the future mods I wanted to do..

TRD exhaust, Pro Tail lights, OEmassive headlights, sso slimline bumper, upgraded rear bumpers (haven’t decided which one)

Honestly is very frustrating.. Do away with the inspection and charge me $40 extra renewal fee.. You know they are only doing it for the money lmao

It probably wouldn't hurt to go at least a little early so that if they want to give you a hard time you may have some extra time to fix the issues.

Reading this thread is just so disheartening; I really hope it's not as bad as we think it will be......f**king Massachusetts having to go and make shit more difficult

Yeah, like a month early and talk to some of the different shops to get the word on what's what and find the shop that's willing to work with you.... Start asking around.
A lot of these guys must be just as ticked.

I only have always gone to one guy since I loved in Auburn and he's been great, jacks the front up checks the ball joints, makes sure all the lights work, and emissions. So now we'll see how it goes.

Next door in CT... I was going to one emissions center & my cars kept failing for gas cap. But you get 1 free retest, so I'd buy a gas cap at autoparts store go back & pass. Don't see the point as they make no money on the deal, but 2 years later the new cap would fail. Gave up on that station & the new station I go to, my vehicles always pass. Car went through no issues last Sat. The Tacoma did fail, but I knew it would going in - CEL. New vapor canister, light cleared & all good. The station really does make a difference, I found the same thing living in NY - the station makes a difference.

Not so worried about my taco....

More worried about my '71 510..... CT was a joke when I registered it, all they did was check the Vin, Cali too (amazingly)... but safety inspection... not sure its gonna pass. Its basically a race car, gutted interior - roll bar, no carpet, no headliner - its got a KA24DE swap with side draft carbs and because of that no cat and a loud exhaust, and being a 70's Japanese tin can its got some rust holes back in the trunk corners. oh yea lowered too...

Posted this on an Auburn Facebook Page for answers. So far not too bad. Only one person failed because one of the numbers on her plate had a smudge on it.

I guess some how something rubbed it and one of the numbers wasn't perfect so he failed her.

Wow, that is ridiculous. So does she have to get new plates now? Or can she just paint it herself?

Nope she has to wait 12 weeks to get new plates, and repay for them.
