I was told two free oil changes. Let them do the first but didn’t care for the service service writer, so never went back!

100% baked on the price for sure , make sure they do your tire rotation, the tech had the nerve to write on the service invoice paper” no rotation needed , as best tread already in front “ lol he could have pretended to do it

Yes but my dealer is way across the state so whatever happens I won't be going back there.
I should probably sign up with a local dealer in case there's a recall or something.

I got the 2 "free" oil changes, only cost me 2 scratches in the paint. Use t0yoTa cArE at your own risk.

I got Toyota care on purchase.
Never used it (Still eligible, technically). It never bothered me.

Better, faster, and more reliable outcome if do it myself...

Oil Changes are very fast & easy with the Valvomax in place.

I actually did show-up at the dealer at around 1,500 miles looking for a first oil change... I asked not to touch the tires as rotation was not due (and had new tires). Being at less than 5k mi and wanting a change wigged the out. They we eager to do a tire rotation!

    - No one could drive a stick. I drove it in. I got less than a reassuring impression, and I decided to leave.

Had to wait for a lady staff member to drive my truck out as they would not let me get it even though it was where I had left it. She got it for me and I left - have never been back.

Pfffft, I wouldn't let the dealer do my oil changes no matter how many are free. I don't want the oil they use and I don't want over torqued drain plugs and filter housings. I also want to get under the truck to look around each time.

I often avoid "free", since nothing is and I don't have the time or patience for games.

Would the dealership give me the parts so I can do it myself?

I’ve done a 1k oil and oil filter change but I’d prefer to do them myself or have my trusted mechanic do them.

I took mine in at 10k for the free service while having them check out TSS issues, had already done the first oil change at 5k myself. Not only did they give me the 'its normal' and 'driver fault' BS, but they say i've been offroading and damaged something causing a leak (oh theres fluid all over your skid plate, blah blah blah and they'll need another few days to figure out where the leak is coming from. W....T....F...I crawl under there, look around at where they are saying is a problem...take a socket wrench to the oil filter, its loose by a quarter turn...And this was of course 'their top tech guy' that checked out my truck...I would trust blind monkeys with no fingertips over these dealership guys.

That is not right. Can you take it to another dealer?

As I've mentioned, the one dealership in Milford where my first service was done was not a good experience.

Since taking my Sport to the Dover dealership and explaining the lack of good service from Milford, they had said others had complained about their visits.

I made sure to explain my expectations during the service to my truck. I did visual inspection prior to acceptance and explained that I had a Skid/CAT plate and locking lugs. Also, that I had installed struts to the hood.

Their impression of the care and concern I had for my truck impressed them. Apparently, no one goes through a walkthrough like I did and explained as much as I did about my truck.

That scenario first started at my 10K visit which included the oil change.

Once completed, I did another walkthrough and opened the hood to make sure everything I can visually see was buttoned up.

I even got on the floor and inspected the underbelly for any leaks, loose bolts or dirty areas that may not have been cleaned. I also made sure I got my locking lug key back.

This is why I believe my interactions with the Service attendant gets relayed to the technician. Even when I'm standing at the check in counter, staff on the other side SAY, they appreciate customers like me because they are rare.

I hope/expect everyone to get this kind of service at any dealership.

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
As a former dealer tech I know how "freebies" are handled and what kind of bulk oil is used. I chose to do my own oil change when my truck hit 5K miles last week. $60 delivered for a 12 quart box of Mobil 1 from Walmart online, $15 for two OEM filter kits from Amazon, and $10 for 10 drain plug gaskets. Ends up costing less than $40 but I know it was done right, with quality parts, and no gorilla tightened drain plug or filter housing. :)

BWMs are definitely meant to be leased although leasing sucks right now. Their maintenance plan kind of fits their typical ownership period. I completely agree with your assessment of them though. Outside of M cars you are getting way less for the money than others along with the fact they butchered the grill of most of the lineup.

Oh good the grill is terrible. I get that the new Tundra grill as well as the new LX grill is awful. But man those BMW’s are horrid.
