    1. Did you post the write up and I miss it somewhere?

    2. How many miles have you put on the truck since you picked it up?

    3. Has it gave you any hint of a problem since you picked it up?

Not so much as a write up but I just needed a chance to scan and redact PII.
    Page 1.jpg Page 2.jpg

Miles since picking it up? Maybe the 10 or 12 it takes to get home. Maybe another 3 miles to the store and back. Call it 15? Admittedly not a test but then there was 200 to 300 miles between the first and second malfunction. So my 15 miles is just as invalid as the 66 miles that Toyota put on it. I would feel better if they had driven it 66 miles BEFORE re-seating the fuse so they could see the malfunction in action (maybe). No hint of issue since picking it up.

And this gets to the heart of the communication issues with this dealership.
    1. First (on this trip) they called to tell me they ran their thumb over the fuse panel to make sure it was good, cleared codes and drove it - no issues, must be fine.
    2. Then when I balked at that, I get a write up that states the fuse panel was damaged by the spades in the fuse tap and the fuse had become dislodged causing the issue.

If I could boil it down to a nut shell - and basically what I told Yota Pro's over the phone:
Toyota says it's a nicked fuel line and a spliced wire under the hood, then they say it's the mere presence of a radio (that is not even on an ECU fuse), then they say remove the radio and it's fine, then when it malfunctions after the radio was removed, they say they just ran a thumb over it and had no issues, then they tell me that I damaged the fuse block when the spade spread the fuse jaws and caused the fuse to fall out. But beyond pointing at the insanely easy and blaming the customer, no real troubleshooting has ever been done. Truck needs fare (spark) and fuel to run and never were those systems checked. I'm fine with the fuse being the culprit as long as we do the due diligence and check the other things.

I seriously think Todd and Co would blame a pine tree air freshener on the rear view mirror for this if I had one. At the very least, their inability to communicate accurately has caused enough slack in the diagnosis that I'm not sure what to trust.

I’m trying to be optimistic but it sure is hard I really feel your pain. Hopefully Yota Pro’s can sort it out fingers crossed maybe it is fixed I sure hope so for you.

Dropped at Yota Pros yesterday! Impressed with the knowledge and professionalism right out of the gate.

But that drive.... DAAAAAYUUUM! We left at 2:00 PM and got there at 3:30 PM. Took an hour and a half - two major accidents along the way and we got stuck under the Deck-Park Tunnel on I-10. I don't mind because it's shady and cool under there.

But yeah, Yota Pros probably won't become my regular shop. Just for special occasions when I need that good Toyota Lovin'.
    upload_2025-2-25_12-51-10.png

Yota Pros said he was putting hit top two guys on this 30 and 20 years experience. Doesn't want to waste shop time or my money. He's already got a punch list that follows fuel and fire and he's going to check out all of the things that could contribute to that. I like his direct, point blank, no pussyfooting around. This is the kind of shop that inspires confidence. We'll see what they come across today or tomorrow.

Still no issues since you picked it up from the Toyota Dealership? What was the mpg on the 1.5 hour trip?

Damn! You left at the wrong time of day.
Leave at 10 am and avoid that central corridor to have a smoother drive.
It sounds like these guys might get to the root of your problems, good luck!

Interested in what my dudes at Yota Pro have to say. I've had good experience with them albeit all
my stuff was basic - and yea, traffic around this area sucks and I'm damn glad I don't deal with it
anymore. Just driving 1/2 mile to the grocery store and my blood pressure blows up.

Well I picked it up from Toyota and then didn't put any miles on it except to get home and then the trek to Yota Pro's. Still under 100 miles since the pick up and no issues. MPG was actually really good. Except for the sitting part, traffic was flowing pretty steady at about 50/55. MPG was at 12 on this fill up (immediately upon leaving Bell Road Toyota and driving home.) then my overall mileage at Yota Pros was like 22MPG. So maybe the MPG is less of an issue than I worried about.

Jesus Christ No. I don't have it in me. I'm ready to show you on the doll where Toyota hurt me and start therapy after all this.

Well it had a choke before I removed it and then after I removed it, the truck still malfunctioned. So you are going to have to help me see how an unplugged ham radio sitting in a plastic tub in the garage caused it to malfunction. If that's the case I'll need to file a flight plan any time I drive it and have people with in 1 mile of my route lock up their electronics. Or lay some science on me (and pretend I'm a total moron - shouldn't be too hard o_O ) and splain it like I'm 5 so I can follow the bouncing ball.

I just got off the phone from Yota-Pros and updated my complaint in the corporate portal.

    upload_2025-2-27_11-2-40.png

So it looks like there is an ever present misfire on #2. That, to me, would indicate not fixed. Matter of fact, I'd say it wasn't even appropriately diagnosed by Bell Road Toyota. And losing one cylinder off and on could definitely impact fuel economy. I'm sorry but hiring your mechanics off of GTA is not sufficient. It just means Bell Road Toyota has a bunch of glorified gamers who came up with a Nintendo and all they know to do is pull the cartridge out and blow on it before blaming the customer and sending them out the door.
