When my Grandma moved to Pennsylvania in 1994, she wanted to keep her '87 Mercedes but was considering getting something with 4WD to replace my step-Grandpa's '83 Cadillac which they had just sold prior to moving from Arizona.

I have no idea what SUVs my dad and uncle took their mother to look at it, but I'm pretty sure that the Chevy S-10 Blazer, Jeep Cherokee, and yes, the T4R, were on the list. At one dealer, we popped the hood of a new SUV and Grammy was asking what a specific part was.

The salesman said, and I quote, "I dunno, I just sell 'em..."

My dad lifted me so I could see under the hood, Grammy pointed at the specific area, and asked "Charlie, what's that?"

I said "that is the housing for the computer I do believe."

I was 5 years old at the time, and I ended up being correct...

Even almost a quarter century ago, a salesman got shown up by an autistic 5-year old!

You can thank the EPA for that.

I literally never see jeeps with winches with dirt on them here in STL. Its absolutely ridiculous. If I ever catch one I'll take a picture. 75% of the time my truck is dirtier than every jeep in the parking lot.

Hopefully, it will reduce the clutter of one specific question...”can I tow this!?!?”

It will instead be replaced with...”guys my Tacoma just towed 22,000 lbs no problem, superior towing rig! Thank god I have these tow mirrors!”

Jeeps are turning into pseudo-luxury vehicles. A fully loaded 2018 Wrangler is like $55K!

    Also, STL...?

I was only a passenger, too many times. I think I might have driven it once? It's the bosses F-150. The size is pretty extreme. If I needed a truck for commercial work, it makes sense. Driving around a person or two, definitely not for me. I'm not even sure that an MT option would sway me there?

Eh. I feel safe on my motorcycle, so just about any car I'm in with a seat belt is good to go.

In the end, I like the way the Taco feels. It could be smaller (1st Gen sized), but I'm happy.

    Yeah, but . . .

What is the usual complaint that folks make about towing with the Taco. It ain't the capacity, it's that it feels too slow. A turbo diesel isn't gonna fix that by any stretch.

No one remembers being stuck behind horse trailers and RVs in the 1980s with a 150hp Chevy / Ford / Dodge up front doing 30 under the speed limit.

Why is it that whenever an enjoyable thread is started, the fighting and name-calling starts?!?!

It feels like a glutinous waste to only port people in a vehicle that big. I'll give you that for sure. That 2.7 ecoboost gets some pretty decent mileage, though.

St. Louis, Missouri. You'd think we'd have a ton of places to wheel and have fun out here, but outside of a family farm, we actually don't have too much here in the Midwest. You basically have to leave the state or pay money to go to some redneck mudding park to do any OHV stuff.

Oh boy. I'm a turbo fan. I heard someone driving an EcoBoost F-150 in a parking garage. Hearing the turbos spool as they accelerated gently after speed bumps. . .

More than a couple times, I built an EB F-150, new Raptor, or EB Stang on the website for grins.

the 2.7 is a steaming pile. just google all the problems 2.7 and 3.5 EB owners are having. No thanks. Plus the 2.3 RS owners having HG issues along with Mustang guys blowing theirs up. I'd stay far away from an Ford EB engines.

Haha! Glad to see I'm not the only one!

I think I just convinced my Mom to get the EB Stang convertible last night. Will definitely have to borrow it some time if she pulls the trigger.
