If it aint a Cummins, I don't want it. Dodge is good at one thing, and one thing only, and that's a Cummins motor.

Don't give dodge credit for something they didn't do.

Cummins is good at one thing and it's cummins

Tacomas are not competing with Dodge rams. So I doubt it will hurt the popularity of the Tacoma. In turn, no diesel.

I expect typical Chrysler quality, but I bet its fuel milage will exceed that of a Tacoma. I laughed when I read the line "legendary TorqueFlite eight speed transmission", as if something so recently on the market could be legendary. Or are they already legendary in the transmission shops?

how true landphil....I heard they have some tranny problems.. 8 spd? really? nothing wrong with 5 or 6 spd tranny. I just stick to taco.
Its a shame to see Ford, chevy and dodge down the shit hole with thier problems. while toyota have is shares of minor problems.. cant really complain about the toytoa motor or tranny. they built it like an amour tank..

In my opinion the only thing lacking in my Tacoma is better fuel economy. And cup holders. :D

Does anyone know if the removable cup holders for the rectangular opening in front of the shifter used in the 2012 models will fit the 2005?

I disgree... If diesels become common equipment across manufacturers and Toyota doesn't have one is when they might start worrying. They are doing fine for now.
He never really said that it was :notsure: I think he was saying that the only thing that Dodge has going for it is the fact that they have the Cummins motors.

    Bone Stock.

    maybe.

it was my understanding that diesel, similar to petrol, have requirements per emissions ouput and this is calculated against the weight of the vehicle which is broken up into categories.

where as small vehicles are only allowed so much, medium, and large.

the small are possible hence the VW/AUDI TDI series.

the medium though, which is where the tacos are, cannot achieve the power/torque to make it worth it, without exceeding the new diesel emission requirements despite this new piss tank addititive.

where as large are much more leniant, BUT have a higher road tax.

My regular cab sits three, barely. It has six cup holders. How many more do I need?

how long has it been since you drove a dodge truck? The late 90's? They really hot the mark on the fourth gen (09 up) trucks...up to par with anything else out there

And no, it isn't a Cummins...it's a VM Motori 3.0...same one chrysler used in the GC a few years ago...and the same they use in a bunch of their vehicles in europe

I've been around, less than normal with summer business, a holiday...and wasn't posting very often at all when I did stop in. Maybe my TW addiction is flaring up again.:)
