Mostly because the information to swap them isn't out there. I run a FB group of about 10K folks and have put out all the schematics for the 4 cylinder TDI motors so folks don't have to pay between 500-1800 for their harnesses. All of the 4 cylinder VW water cooled engines have the same bolt pattern, so the folks that make the adapter plates can easily produce them. Additionally we have more tuners for the 4 cylinders as well. I personally used to pay for my tunes, got tired of it, and now tune everything myself. I most recently took the time to learn how to do the electric actuator for the VNT controls on my turbos, just so I knew how to do it. https://youtu.be/ypWDAltlrNY
The only thing I don't know is how to use a VNT turbo in a compound setup. I'm sure I could learn, but I'm thinking I'd rather use two wastegated turbos to about 55-60 PSI.

I run AX15s in my CJ7 and XJ. Both of them run Centerforce clutches from the Jeep 4.0, and those hold up perfectly well. Matt Whitbread is the machinist that builds my adapter plates. He has a Mazda B-series (Ford Ranger) running a BHW engine with compounds pushing 75 PSI of boost. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3pMddbuLzs&t=4s He's running just a run of the mill Luk clutch and flywheel without issues. I've beat on my Centerforce clutches and never had an issue.

Kyle Meister, a friend of mine, has a 1-ton swapped Dakota 4 door. It weighs in around 6000 lbs empty. He lives in Wyoming and runs a smaller turbo than I do (GTC1549 vs GTD1756 that I run) and with lower air density, he has no issues moving that massive vehicle at highway speeds. He gets low 20's for MPG, but he's also going through an AW4 transmission. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NPV5MTNiwM Some of the VW vans that have been converted are similar in weight, and shaped like a brick. As long as you have a good tune, you should be OK. Speaking of tunes, Kyle's Dakota is running my tuning. Free of charge, lol
