The 6.7 is bulletproof also, First couple of years with 6.7 were kinda shaking, they since ironed out the wrinkles

The 6.7 is the same motor as 5.9 just bored and stroked a little to get 6.7L. The fuel economy of the new diesels is less then stellar though, I doubt any of them will get as good a economy as the older non emissions engines, the DPF injects diesel into the exhaust to "clean" the filter of soot. My dad quite often gets Diesel Power mag, good publication and lots of info if your in the market for a diesel.

    Nothing yet, brand new!
My old man has a 96 Dodge Cummins flatbed dually. It always has a trailer hitched to it with 360k on the odo. On it's second clutch and 5th set of ujoints. Can't beat the old cummins motor. Pulls hard all day long averages 15mpg. It's no looker or speed demon but does it's job well.

Borla Catback Exhaust, Snorkel, 33s on either 16's or 18's, ARB Bumper, All Pro LT w/Walker Evan Shocks front and back, All Pro expedition leaf pack, 10,000lb Superwinch, Intake Manifold Spacer, Bed Rack with ARB RTT, Rotopack and Hi Lift mounted, Husky Liner mats and an air freshener from 1995.
Driven Cummins for 2 years now as work trucks in cold weather. Solid engines. Got 17mpg with an MTC on the back.

My truck with about 122kms on it brand new. Someones Cavalier and the 2500 diesel in the backround.

Another picture of the MTC on the back. It's essentially a Camper with a rollover cage welded into it. Cage adds about 600lbs to the weight of the camper.

Total weight is nothing to a truck like that, but the wind resistance kills you. At 140kms/h your MPG really starts to suffer. With the newer MTCs you can't even go past 140. The truck gets really squirrely and wanders all over the road.

Inside of the truck sucks compared to our Tacos though. Entire dash is carved from a fucking block of grey plastic. Seats are comfy and nice and high though.

I would stick to the new Cummings or Duramax.

I have not heard much good about the new Ford. A couple friend of mine that have purchased them complain about power and mileage. What ever you do, don't purchase a 03-mid04 6.0L powerstroke. They have all kinds of issues.

Not to mention the sound like they're got massive engine knocking all the time. Loud, annoying and abrasive engines.

The old 7.3's were the best Ford motor IMO.
