    has anyone heard of a Diesel swap in a Tacoma and if so what would the price range be for it and is it worth it?

    I saw a 1990 pickup SAS 1.9 Volkswagen TD on a for sale ad around here not too long ago. It would be cool, but retardely gutless.

    I imagine that it would be quite pricey but so cool. If you were going to make a project out of it and take your time with it, give it the love it needs it would be stunning. I'm not really sure of diesels that would fit in our trucks either?

    Although, if you're just looking to swap for more power you could go 4.3l from an LS430. They're a pretty sweet v8 and you'd save the weight on the 4.7. Cam it down for low end torque. She'd be mint.

    Edit;

    That truck ad stated $15,000 for the truck.. he stated "frame is near mint". Clearly he had some cash dumped into that beast.
