We traded in the wife's A3 a year and a half ago. It was an incredible car that never gave us issues and that we got a very nice buyback on.

We already had the tacoma and she loved the A3. I recommended getting something completely different or she would hate the replacement. So she got a low miles Cayenne.

I still have my 01 VW Golf TDI (6spd) it is super fun but no where close to stock haha

And the wife still has her 2014 VW Passat diesel and as soon as the NEW warranty wears out it is a stage 2 tune for it.

I got rid of my 2015 VW Golf TDI and got a 2017 Tacoma SR.

I bought my Taco when VW announced the buyback and then parked my Golf.

Here is a pic of my Taco dropping it off.

He’s just asking a question. He isn’t comparing the two. Not even one here comes from 1 Tacoma to another or 1 midsize to another. Peoples lives, situations, wants and needs change. Thus sometimes making people come from others vehicles that current owners may think is kind of strange.

Purchased my truck about 2 mos before turning my '10 Jetta TDI in. It was overdue for a timing belt and had a cracked DPF housing ... got around $11k for it. I was driving my '94 Yota pickup exclusively for about a year until the buy back finally happened.

Pair that with the fuel savings relative to my previous vehicle and I was driving a free car around for 6 years, but if I had to keep it 1 more year it was going to be spendy.

Really did love that car, but it taught me that I do not want a modern diesel Tacoma (which is why I stopped holding out for one, and got the 2TR).

The Mrs. had a 13 TDi SportWagen that she loved. We did the buy back and got her an AWD Highlander SE. I still miss that Jetta and the many road trips from NC to Ohio we took carving corners on the WV turnpike and getting 40+ mpg while doing it :spy:.
