Good to know! I figured it can't be any more dusty behind the tail light than right on top off the diff where the old breather was.

Keep water and other materials out of your differential by rerouting the breather to a higher physical location.

Does anyone have a good place to order these from? I just tried to order them from Camel back and they want 14 bucks for shipping 7 dollars in parts that's ridiculous.

Had to swing by two local Toyota dealers for the breather and union. O'Rielys for the hose (had clamps already). Total damage $17.43 and 20 minutes of labor.

Edit: that 20 min includes me drinking a beer when I finished.

I've already done this mod with said parts on pg1, however i was reading the "What have you done to your truck today" thread and someone chimed in and said an open filter breather would be best. Any truth to this?

Just did a third gen with part numbers...

    Breather
    90930-03136
    http://www.toyotaparts.metro-toyota.com/90930-03136.html

Eight feet of 5/16" fuel line (from my local Ace Hardware), to place breather behind drivers tail light.

    Union
    90404-51319
    http://www.toyotaparts.metro-toyota.com/90404-51319.html

It was a little snug getting the line onto the breather and union, so I just stuck the ends of the fuel line in a cup of boiling water for a minute. Softened right up, slid right on.

I didn't take any pictures, it looks the same as all the other pictures.

    For those looking for an alternate source for the nipple to install in the differential, I used this one on my 2014;
    Genuine Toyota (90404-51319) Union https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2S0TKQ/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_6gmZxb14EXPVX

Worked just fine and I didn't have the hassle of going to dealer. I bought 8' of 5/16" fuel line from hardware store (spreading the business around), and got a metal in-line fuel filter from an auto parts store.
I used the drivers taillight location over the fuel door, due to limited access (didn't have removable pocket in bed). The fuel filter allows airflow, and filters air so dust is not a concern.

I thought it made sense, so I changed my breather from the Toyota part to this:
