    '98 SR5 4x4
    3" OME Suspension lift. PEX motoring headlights.
    I have a '98 Taco and I want to get a lift. I'm stuck between the OME 3" lift w/ spacers, or the Toytec Ultimate lift. Any ideas? Also, I'm not sure if I need a front/rear diff drop. :confused:

    I'm not a fan of the spacer lifts so to me the Toytec lift, with its complete coilover replacement is a better system. As for the differential drop, seems like folks are split on whether this is needed or not but, it does make sense to decrease the angle of the half shafts once the lift is installed. I have the differential drop kit from Toytec and haven't had any issues. Good luck with your mods.

    The amount that they reduce the angel is around 2* or so, barely even noticeable. If you really want to save the CV's, swap out for some manual hubs.

    If you find that post lift your cv boots are rubbing or are just too close for comfort and easy and relatively inexpensive solution is the diff drop. One advantage to the coilover type lift is its adjustability. If your cv angles are too high you can adjust some lift out of it.

    Numerous of people have 3" suspension lift w/o diff. drop kits and are running strong.

    if i were you i wouldnt go with a spacer lift. the toytec ultimate kit on the other hand is a good practical setup. it really depends on how much wheeling you do though but ill tell ya i know first hand that a spacer lift will give ya a shit ride when wheelin and on the road as well. ive got a front diff drop and havent had any troubles with my CVs but thats not to say you would have troubles without one.
