Needing to do this on mine. Bought at 48k, doubt it has been touched. According to the dealer, they only deal with anything that's presenting itself as a problem with driveability so I know that they completely ignored it during their "certification" process. Hell, they left fucking autolite plugs in the thing so I know the diff oil wasn't touched. Interested in what folks' opinions on gear oil are.

Rear - 15k dumped it for the 1st time...not bad. I'll go 25k intervals now on that.

    Front will be 50k

Same here. I'm sticking with what the book says. I still have about 5,000k to go until I hit 30k but I already purchased all the diff oils and LSD additives. Oh and I am going to change it out with redline synthetic and redline LSD additives.

I changed mine at 30,000 so I chose the 25 poll.....switched everything over to amsoil synthetic diffs, transfer case, and MT90 in the tranny. Probably wont do it again until 100,000 now unless I submerge the axels in water or something

do the first at 15k and what ever your preference after that i myself will do it every 15 remember the manual's always base there intervals on ideal driving conditions.so if you live in hilly and a place where your roads aren't stait and also stop and go driving you will need to do it more often it all depends on driving habits and terrain

I just had my local mechanic (not Toyota), whom I trust, handle my 30K maintenance because I am jammed up at work and going on a vacation road trip next week.

Toyota has two different 30K servicing options: one for heavy use (towing & 4 wheeling) and one for light duty use (road driving). The heavy use calls for diff. oil change, transfer case, and tranny coolant. The light use plan doesn't change out the oils or coolant.

My mechanic said mine looked fine, since all my use is light duty city and highway miles. So if you are doing it yourself its a judgment call as to when you change it out, but its definitely not a given to do it at 30K. I will probably change mine out around 50K, well before the 60K servicing mark. He did clean out my intake, which is something Toyota doesn't offer in their 30K maintenance, but is beneficial.

Between the servicing, the full detailing I did the previous week, and the brand new Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos, truck is looking and running sweet.
