So I decided to do my diff oil change and in the process of doing so, the plastic piece that "I" forgot to remove from the oil bottle went through the fill plug. I need advice as to how I canremove it.
    Thanks.
I am mad that I make such a stupid mistake :annoyed:

1st thing I'd do, put the axle on jackstands and spin the driveshaft by hand and maybe it will work its way down to the drain plug where you can grab it. If not, the next option would be pulling the differential which isn't that bad probably takes 2-3 hours tops if you've never done it before.

Its soft plastic, right? Run it for a few days. Chew that shit up and spit it out.

    - in case it has to be said....don't follow my advice.

Yea it is soft plastic. I was thinking of just doing that but, I don't want to risk opening another can worms. My other option was to remove the 3rd member. I saw a write up on how to do it and it looks pretty straight foward. I just don't want to ruin something else....

I ended up removing the 3rd member. I didn't want to leave the plastic in. Man for the first time doing it, I must say it was a pain in the ass. I got help from my dad and the write up I saw in this forum, but what made it a pain was doing it at night. Yeah it was a stupid mistake, but I also gained knowledge on how to remove it. In all it took us about 3 hrs.
