new to the Tacoma world, I bought an 06 Tacoma and have owned Toyota trucks for years, any who, will a complete rear end out of a 97 Tacoma fit my 06 or should I just buy the center section?

    What is your goal?

You'll have to find another 2nd Gen as the older 7.5" 1st Gen diffs are not compatible.

As mentioned, 1st gen will not fit. To clarify, you need 2005+.

Since you have an 06 TRD sport, you have the 8.4" real limited slip. So, if you want limited slip, you need 05 to somewhere around 08. Sometime around 09, they went to the electronic LSD (Or whatever they call it). Don't remember the exact year they changed. I would just get your 3rd member rebuilt.
