I bought my 2018 Off Rd. Used this year and have attempted maybe 10 times to engage the Diff. Lock. Out of the 10 times it has actually engaged about 50% of the time, have always been in 4W low and in neutral. Yesterday in engaged first attempt BUT
I couldn’t get it to disengage, I tried everything and finally it disengaged, is there something I can do to make this better or is it a trip to the dealership? Thanks in advance folks!!!

    Working now a list
When you use 4x4 monthly to exercise and lube the system shift to 4lo and drive back and forth a bit with the locker on. The more you use it the better it works.

Trying turning slightly to help engage, and engage and unlock while the rear axle is not under a load,,, acceleration or engine braking.

That’s what I have been trying to do, but haven’t been using reverse, just forward and neutral. I will give it a real work out when I get a weekend off.
    Thanks

The way the locker engages is through a cog locking into the side of a spider gear. In order for them to engage you need to turn slowly, either direction will work. To disengage, slowly rock the steering back and forth to free up any bind.

Going in a straight line forward or backwards will not spin the spider gears and not line up the cog.

It works better when moving, not in neutral sitting still.

Don't be in neutral, drive slowly and turn a bit. To get it unlocked it needs to be out of any bind so you can achieve this the same way.
