Difference between Gen 2 and Gen 2.5 radio bezel?

2011 Barcelona Red Reg Cab 4WD

I’m looking to upgrade my head unit again in my 2011. I definitely want a bigger screen, and want it to look more integrated, but I do not want one of the android based units. I see that Metra has a mount specifically for the Pioneer DMH-C5500NEX, but is for the 2012-2015 model. From what I saw in the install guide, it appears that the only difference between the earlier and later models is the hazard switch/clock assembly, is that correct?
