I have an 07 Sport and am considering swapping the front shocks with 3rd gen shocks just because they're old and the 1" lift is nice. Does anyone know if the 3rd gens are stiffer or softer? I put 5100s in the rear because the rear Sport shocks are jarring with an empty bed but I'm not sure if changing the fronts to third gen would make the front firmer or softer than current

I had a 12 sport, and now 18 sport. Hard to tell if any difference. Without jumping back and forth between the two. 3rd gens are Hitachi shocks. I don't know if you will gain 1" Height. I have mine in basement in the box 15 TRD Pro suspension came in. If you want measurement I can get you that.

I think the coil springs are longer, I'm not sure if the shock itself is too

I’m happy to sell you my 2018 Sport suspension on that cheap cheap if you want it. Coils are installed, and they only have 1000 miles on them. I know you were seeking info, but I couldn’t help the shameless plug

I just read that post you linked. Question for you, I may have miss read, or missed it. I say's 3 Gen 1" taller hub to fender, than 2nd Gen. My question is that the truck to truck, or 3rd Gen suspension on 2 Gen. I took it as truck to truck. If it is that, could it be 3 Gen fender is cut high? So, Hub to fender measurement wouldn't work for comparing the two. Fenders are different 2nd Gen to 3rd Gen.
