Can anyone give me specs on stock suspension on the 2016 3rd gen models? Would it be worth it to put stock TRD limited suspension on my SR5?

No such thing as a TRD Limited. I assume you mean TRD Offroad, while its an upgrade, its so minor IMO that I'd go with something aftermarket.

Well I can tell you the Hitachi ones on the Sport are pretty bumpy and stiff. I have BFG's now but it was similar with the stock Toyo's too. Good around the corners and sure doesn't rebound much but it can get pretty jumpy over bumps. No different than my '09 Tundra with 100,000 mile stock Bilsteins. I may go aftermarket someday if I know 100% that I'll be keeping the truck long term. After dumping many $$$$ into mods I probably will, but this truck has me with mixed feelings.

I think the suspension on the SR5 is borderline better than the one on the Sport. I test drove a couple of SR5's I was looking at buying before finding my Sport locally by chance. Should be the same suspension as the Limited. Only the Sport and OR are different afaik.

The OR is a little softer and better off road but rolls a bit more on the street. But that's how any off road oriented suspension upgrade will be for the most part.

TRD Sport has Hitachi sport shocks and they are stiffer (tuned for pavement "performance") and result in a bouncier ride ...you will feel more bumps in the road but it will probably corner a bit better than say the TRD Off Road.

The TRD OR has Off Road tuned suspension by Bilstein and it is better at absorbing rough road, washboard, potholes, and off road obstacles. It is a "cushier" ride. I prefer the TRD OR based on test driving Sport, SR5, and TRD OR.

The SR5 is just your run of the mill shock, I'd say it's closer to the Sport style shocks than the TRD OR for sure. It is more bouncy and less forgiving on rough roads; but not as bad as the Sport would be. I know this because my family member bought an SR5 and I basically drove it up the back side of Mount Rainier in WA State. The Limited I believe has the same suspension as the SR5.

If I were to do it all over again I'd probably buy a SR5 4x4 DCSB and upgrade the suspension to Bilstein 6112 in front and 5160s in the rear maybe to get a little bit of a level out of it and then add some better (only slightly larger) tires. Oh and I'd also probably wait until 2018 because my 2016 has a bunch of issues and the 2017 hasn't shown to have addressed ANY of them based on my test drive of a 2017. Maybe by 2018 they'll have that crap fixed...

I like my OR's suspension for both Off & On-road... its compliant and will soak up the potholes and road bumps pretty well.
The truck is not designed for high speed , so going into corners is not a good idea for any of the models.
It will really depend on what you want the truck for and if you are ok with adding $$$$ to improve the suspension components. Every suspension trim level has room for improvements, it just depends how much money you want to spend.

I have the TRD Sport and I really don't like the stiff suspension. You feel every single bump in the road but I can corner like a sports car. Would I be able to swap for the TRD OR suspension straight up?

Just get the 5100s. I got all 4 for less than 300 bucks on Jet.com. Plus the fronts are ride adjustable so I will be putting them at 0.85" lift with SumoSpring in the back for towing to avoid sag. I hear the sumo adds about 0.5" so it will be level with a slight lift which I'm happy with. This will work good when i get my new 265/70R17 & wheels.

I've heard they were the same valving, but that's hearsay based on other member feedback. I haven't seen any #s.

I haven't installed yet so I can't give you a comparison, but in the next couple of weeks I'll let you know if you wait that long.

I own a white 2017 Tacoma SR5 DCLB. My suspension is stock to this day. I use my truck for highway use and beach cruising. The suspension setup is comfortable for highway driving. Pot holes seem to get absorbed. Making sharp turns into an elevation change will have you rocking. However when beach cruising I cannot go slow. The small whoops made by other vehicles cause extreme bouncing. When going slow the springs and shocks are being put to their maximum.

I intend to install 265/70/17 setup with Bilstein 5100’s to account for this. I do wonder what width to go with. Being i’m a highway driver for 20 miles a day.

Front end on my sr5 is decent, the rear could use help. Not so sure its just those hicrapy shocks. You need some leaf spring movement to. I have to throw nearly 400 lbs in the bed to get a more compliant ride. It actually felt pretty good when i had a bit over 1300 lbs. back there at one time.
