I had an a 09 TRD off road and I know that the off road package it was set it up for off road, suspension and rear diff lockers. The sport package had the suspension more suitable for street conditions and the scoop on the hood.
Hope it helps, not 100% sure but I think im pretty close, other thing with 2nd gens TRD packages where the seats, which where higher end than the other Tacoma models.

Thanks I think you are right just upgraded shocks and lifted truck so no more street pro but love the hood scoop.... Still a work in progress and learning...

The TRD Sport, up until a certain point (2010 or 2009?) had a limited slip rear differential, the TRD Offroad has a locking rear differential (better for off-roading). Both have better suspensions than non TRD, and the Sport has the hood scoop (cosmetic only).

Supercharger, Icon stage 3 suspension, Pelfreybilt Armor, All-Pro Sliders & Leaf Pack, 17 inch Black Rhino Sidewinder wheels, 33 inch Toyo tires, Rigid Lighting, SPod,
TRD Sport comes in either short bed or long bed, TRD Off road comes in short bed only and has a few more buttons for four wheel drive options, like locking rear dif and A-trac (might depend on the year)
