Differences between 2011 and 2012

I apologize if this gets confusing, but I'm getting a little dizzy trying to figure some of this out.

I know that the 2012 dash kits aren't out yet. I also know that some are using 2011 kits from Scosche or Metra with varying results. I have no problem using a 2011 kit for now in my 2012, and I'd possibly even leave it in if the appearance wasn't too aggravating to me.

When I do a search on Crutchfield for head units for my 2012, I get completely different results than when I search under a 2011. This makes me think that there are more differences between the two years than just a dash kit. A 2011 search brings the warning that fold-down face units can't be used; the 2012 search doesn't mention this.

So my question is this: besides the dash kit not fitting perfectly, is there anything that would prevent me from putting a unit that can fit in a 2011 Taco into a 2012? Maybe a difference in wiring harnesses or something?

I am wondering the same thing. If anybody out there has an answer for us....we'd appreciate it. I am thinking of calling Crutchfield and ask this question. If I get an answer, I will post......but this is bugging me too.
