    Off topic but..

Made it to my hunting spot pretty damn easy today.
Lucked out, ground froze lease night so the mud wasn't bad at all. Most of the puddles were half frozen too.
The way out should be pretty fun once the sun warms up the mud :)

The hub is the same size, spokes are slightly larger to account for the larger rim and the tires will be proportionally larger, to fit the larger wheels (hub, spokes and rim).

Most notable difference is you pay the same, for far less capability, in the Sport.

"Better" depends on the individual and their needs/preferences.

Figure out the differences and figure out your needs. It should be pretty clear which one is the better match for you. How well one or the other matches someone else's needs/preferences is irrelevant to your decision.

Which is why you see a lot more sports on the lot (I bet there's a lot more profit for Toyota in the Sport than Off road). Though I do think the skewp is pretty sweet.

Get what you want. I personally got the TRD OR because I wanted the most capability for the money. Test drove a sport and the suspension was terribly stiff and bouncy. Couldn't make sense of why the sport would be preferred.

Well I'm not arguing with you man, just saying the skewp has always been a Tacoma thing and that's why its so desirable here. And yes most would opt for the OR which you get a ton of features for the same price over the cosmetic stuff, some don't and prefer the fancy looks. To each their own I guess. At one point I could understand 2nd gen LBs only came in sport and sr5.

Test drive both OP and weigh if the stuff like locker and off road suspension is something you want to invest in. I too really want the TRD OR access cab in manual, but unless I go to Canada, it ain't happening here. The 6ft bed was more important to me, and only access cab model was considered as I have zero use for the double cab, so I went with the AC with auto tranny. The suspension feels more plush than the sport, as it absorbs bumps better. Sure, the hood scoop looks good, but if I want it bad enough, I'll just buy a new hood. Haven't test crawl yet, but plan to in the next few weeks to see how it handles. Other than not having three pedals, I love how this truck drives. Oh, and my gas mileage is usually 18-23 mpg, pretty decent for a truck IMO.

Skewp is a 2nd gen thing or 4Runner thing not a really a Taco thing.... the 1st gen Taco never had a skewp but crawled all over the place damn place on much less hp. Ever see a skewp on a Land Cruiser? Of course not......

OR has more function over fashion but the Sport does meet a market niche.... flatbillers with instagram accounts and accessibility to the shore and desert need Sports. They look cool lifted and vagazilled, perfect for the under 30 crowd in TW TW that buys their first Taco with a manual....

The only thing TRD about the sport is the bed sticker and the price hike but you do get a sunglasses case holder and GoPro mount.

Well 10 years of skewp, would kind of make it a Tacoma thing and since its continued into this gen as well and the 4 runners. Skewp has never been functional so not sure what the second part of that is about.

I agree to the crowd it plays too. Big profit margin for Toyota compared to the OR I bet.

OR married to Sport = Pro. Seriously though as most pointed out the OR seems to be more functional vs the Sport which is more aesthetics. I tend to be more aesthetics which is why I originally looked at the Sport. Some will criticize and argue but that's how I choose to roll. It comes down to what you wanna do with it.

Yes but its still a TRD thing, its associated with TRD package and has been for a long time. Agree though the TRD OR is the way to go, but like you said some guys would rather pay to look cool than pay for the function. I tend to view 3rd gen sports as bro trucks. Cant wait to get flamed for that statement now too. lol.
