That woman does whatever the hell she wants to do. Luckily she doesn't choose to drive my car.

This has to be one of the biggest wtf were they doing when they designed the radio steering control pad. Since when does volume up = right?

well... on my computer keyboard and laptop, vol up is to the right and vol down is to the left. i'm not saying it makes sense on a steering wheel, but if volume is oriented with left/right, left is definitely down and right is definitely up.

I'm going to jump in here with a question. Out of all the OR added features, which do you find the most useful? I skipped the OR for my '14 and my '16 because I have never needed the locker in my '03 once since I bought it new in '03. I liked the Sport looks a little better and didn't want any added electronics in my drive train. If I bought today I might consider the OR seeing that there are not more problems with the technology though. With that, I'm totally happy and confident my truck will take me anywhere I need or want to go with ease.

I find the OR ride most useful

I test drove sport vs or and the Or rose better on the road for me

I had a 16 OR, which was traded for 17PRo

I wanted all the bells/whistles which meant OR or SPORT. I went OR because I liked the ride better and I liked the look better. The actual off road goodies (crawl and locking diff) are nice to have but I haven't needed either in my first year of ownership. This truck would have been great to have when I lived in CO but is less useful in TX due to the lack of forest access and mining roads.

EDIT: I just checked and 95.8% of TX is private land. Not a lot of options for off road unless you own land or pay to play on someone else's. In CO, we bought a 4x4 trails book and used to go explore old roads in our Xterra. I prefer to use the vehicle to get somewhere and see something (not just to crawl over somebody's obstacle course).

Lol... actually it makes perfect sense with the way the touch screen functions. If you notice on the screen volume goes across and the channels are up and down. So visual it makes sense.

Now you could argue the screen should behave different but if you think about it.. scrolling through channels visually pretty much has to be up and down.

Mystery solved for the internetz ;)

Alright, just priced up a TRD Sport and a TRD Off-Road. A double cab 5" bed with 4wd in Automatic on both, and no other options. It's the same price on their website ($35,355) for either truck. So unless you're getting some year-end incentives I don't see how you could buy a TRD Sport over the Off-Road.

Well... let me show you the way :)

If you plan to use your truck as a weekend warrior and actually spend some time off road in sem- severe conditions then by all means get the OR (I am not talking about hunting roads and fire roads.. Christ a mini van could do that shit)

I think the chrome bumper and plastic fender flares look like ass BUT if you are a serious wheeler you will replace the bumpers anyway and the plastic will come in handy when you are grinding against rocks and trees (again serious wheelers... (not the idiots who use the crawl control to get out of the grocery store)

Now.. if you spend 99.9 percent of the time ON the road and the other .1 percent is on pretty easy trails then I think the sport is a better choice for a few reasons.
    1. It simply looks better (fake scoop or not.. most people don't know that... they just think it is awesome / don't be fooled by the haters on this forum.. they all want it)
    2. Color matched rear bumper is much nicer (again it won't be swapped out for heavy duty off road bumper)
    3. It is more street friendly.. both suspension wise and wind noise from the valance etc (Toyota claims that.. opinions will differ)
    4. I also got a crew cab with a long box, to hold dirt bikes, which are wayyyyy more fun offroad imho. which leads me to number 5
    5. If you bought an OR for wheeling then you should have bought an access cab in manual with as few options as possible. Less shit to go wrong. If you are going to trick out a long box OR with an auto then that is funny in itself.

So.. if you want a good looking tricked out truck with every option / auto with better re-sale value and still as capable as any normal truck on light off road trails then a sport is for you BUT if you are are hitting hardcore trails and plan to beat the shit out of it I would get an OR.

The opinions posted above are my own... and in the interest of world peace you are entitled to your own :)

Even my 12 year old son was like that's just not right. Volume is up and down and scroll is left and right.

I respect your opinion but do not agree - isn't that the best thing about the Internet.

Sometimes I forget that not everyone on this forum wants a truck for overlanding or rock crawling. Lol.

So you would like the controls on the steering wheel to OPPOSITE of what you see on the screen? I have the large touch screen.. perhaps it is different on other trim levels. For me what I see matches what I would press so it makes sense.

If yours is different then I see why people wouldn't like it.

No, I have a volume knob that I can turn to increase volume. I do have the scroll down for presets. They should also had a scan on the wheel for the radio.

I equate when someone says "LB" as a Double cab longbed as the AC only comes with a LB, there is no AC with a shortbed.

I do like the black fender flairs and black chin better on the OR. I'll address my chin with a slim line front bumper from Southern Style Offroad when funds permit it and a lift at the same time.

What I didn't like was the chrome bumpers and I do like the Scoop.
