So I just went to www.Toyota.com and messed around a little and built different level trucks using different zip codes... Man what a huge difference in accessories available in different areas!

For my PRO build, In Gulf states region (my region) you can't add locking lug nuts, bed mat, bed cleats, all weather mats, door sill protectors, bed extender, cargo separator, cargo net, roof rack, TRD graphics, spare tire lock or a bunch of other accessories...

The SR5 also is missing all of the accessory packages other areas have available.

I think I could probably add them at the dealer if I wanted but not on the build list on the website...

Most of the stuff I would pass on anyway but I would like the bed mat and a couple other smaller items like the two USB plug in the rear of the console.

Our region has standard wheel keys, mud flaps, winter mats, bed cleats, and block heater. You can't add what's forced on purchase. (this is all models SR to Pro except the cleats)

well depends on how you look at it. there is either 3 regions (unofficial) or 12 official)

    1. Toyota usa regions
    2. southest Toyota region (SET)
    3. gulf states Toyota region (GST)

GST/SET do not have to follow Toyota usa rules as a regional entity so you see a lot of weird options/packages/models that the rest of the usa does not have.

    the 12 official regions :

New England Region -- Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island
Greater New York Region -- New York, New Jersey, Connecticut
Central Atlantic Region -- Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, District of Columbia
Southeast Region -- North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida
Western Region -- Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota
Ohio Valley Region -- Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee
Midwest Region -- Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota
Mountain Region -- Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming
Gulf States Region -- Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi
Northern CA Region -- California north of the Los Angeles metro area
Southern CA Region -- Los Angeles metro area, and areas south
Pacific Northwest Region -- Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana

And Canada, Mexico and New Caledonia. And if anyone can figure out why they sell it alongside the Hilux in New Caledonia, please share.

in hawaii we do not get XM radio, the button on the screen does not even exist. my dealer told me that the trucks come from Texas . i asked about XM and if they did something with the head unit, he said the trucks are not touched prior to shipping to hawaii, just taken from the lot to the dock. i wanted to know in case i move to the mainland and ship my truck there.

So where does Alaska get trucks from? I was always annoyed when I ordered stuff with free shipping to the continental US and they tried denying my shipping for not being part of the same continent....

    Canada is easy, Toyota.ca
    mexico is Toyota.mx
    Caledonia I have no idea.

since Toyota outside the usa doesn't have as strict rules for vehicles, they can sell vehicles that are available to the general world population.

the biggest issue with xm is that satellite coverage doesn't exist for Alaska or Hawaii due to the coverage area. the signal I think per federal regulation means they can only direct the signal to the mainland.
