Toyota's fluid is just fine unless you need something different or aren't happy with it.

That said, I'll likely be swapping in Redline fluids when the time comes.

I hear good things about this redline oil, but I also heard that you should use regular oil instead of synthetic for differentials. What are your thoughts?

Ehhh, I think that's an old way of thinking. There's still guys that change their oil every 3k regardless of when it actually breaks down or gets dirty. There's no reason you should need a conventional fluid pretty much at all anymore as (good) synthetics use higher quality materials and are literally engineered to be better. So long as you get the right synthetic fluid for your application it should lube better and last longer (still change at factory intervals or do independent testing to see when it actually needs changing - don't just run it forever).

If you're that worried about it though just stick to the factory stuff. Don't just take my opinion on it, do some research for these specific diff's and compare the factory fluid specs vs multiple synthetic options to see what is right for you. Nothing worse than changing something and then being paranoid about it for the next 30k miles.
