I don't know a whole bunch about the pros/cons of different oil types or really anything about additives and common specifications, but I do know that everyone seems to have strong opinions on what specific oil type/brand you should use so here goes nothing..

Can I use the same oil for the front and rear differentials AND the manual transmission? Any fully synthetic 75w90 meeting the GL5 specification?

Please disregard this thread. If my dumb @$$ had read another ongoing thread, I could have answered these questions.

The manual transmission calls for a GL-4 only specification oil.

If the product has GL-5 on the label it is not suitable.

The additives in a GL-5 rated oil are so tenacious they rip out microscopic bits of the "yellow metals", brass & bronze, used in the synchronizers and causes them to wear very quickly.

My first MT was a Miata and IIRC this is what people recommended for those, calling them “unicorn tears”.

I read quite a bit about that, different vehicle but the same results.
The improvement was immediately noticeable on the first drive.

Although I don't drive (or shift) very fast second gear always felt a bit "crunchy" and I was conscious of the syncromesh working, it could be felt in the stick. Occasionally first gear would be reluctant to engage when stopped.

All of the above went away with the fluid change (30K) and the transmission immediately felt slicker and smoother. These transmissions do seem to take some time to break in, I'm around 50K now and it shifts very nicely.

yep, anytime the temp drops by about 20F, I can feel it in 2nd. Been that way since new. Hasn’t gotten worse though so I’m not worried about it. I’ll be coming up on 60k miles before I know it and will drain the tranny. Just doing research now about all the schedules and preventative maintenance since I’ve decided I’m done with the stealership.

Happy with redline oils. Go to their website ... they have everything for tyranny, diffs, and transfer case.

I did mine all at 5k and 30k so far. My manual transmission was noticeably better after change.
