    hello,

I recently leveled my truck by raising the front end roughly 1". Since then, I have experienced very slight vibrations while driving. I know that the ECGS Bushing is known for fixing this issue, but my question is, would installing a differential drop kit also remedy the issue?? The diff drop kit is cheaper and also much easier to install. Thank you for your help! I just wanted to see if it would be as effective as the ECGS Bushing.

Diff Drops do nothing for our 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacoma's. Might be cheaper but can also cause more damage in the long run.

No. There are numerous threads stating the drop kit does more harm than good.

Drive in a straight line at speed and engage 4wd. If the vibes are gone, the ECGS bushing needs replaced. It's an easy check.

What damage with a diff drop? It just reduces the higher angle of the cv on a lift. This should help the alignment into the differential no?

Ah i see so self induced damage. I was curious if it was a mechanical failure or something. That catasgrphically fails

The ECGS bushing isn't too bad to do yourself. Watch a couple youtube vids and take your time.

Isn't there a prop shaft angle issue too or am I imagining things?

Even a 3* shim is enough to cancel vibes in a rear driveshaft

Everybody said I would get vibrations at 35mph so I drive at 30 or 40, nowhere in between, so far so good; knock on wood.

My exeperience with the bushing swap is this.

I had minor vibrations post lift but they didn't go away in 4wd. I did however notice that there was a lot of play on my driver side cv. After installing the bushing there is much less play and no vibrations ever. It's nice having the piece of mind that I can safely run a 3" front lift and not have the bearing grenade my front diff.
