Question. My 2018 is due for diff fluid change. What oil have you used for this?

    Genuine Toyota? AMSoil? Mobil 1?

And how many quarts does it take?

Trying to avoid being took by the Stealership.

The owners manual will tell you the GL rating, viscosity and quantity.

Pick a well known OTC product that meets those specs. No boutique products needed.

I just did mine a couple of weeks ago.
I used Valvoline synthetic 75W90 in the easy to use 1 qt squeeze bags.
Order some crush washers from Amazon make sure you have the right hex driver for the front diff and its easier than an oil change.

+1 for the squeeze bags! No pump required to drain the entire quart.

For the differentials you will need 6 qts. 4 for the rear and 1 and a fraction for the front.

Less junk in the garage, and actually easier to use than a pump.

Redline 75w-85 is probably about as close to stock rating as you get outside of Toyota’s version.

Side note, I added 0.8L to my rear diff this past weekend (Jan 2021 build OR) before it got up to the fill plug.

There were a few comments in other threads about the factory filling all rear diffs with the same amount regardless of diff version. I think this is true. My hope was it would help with the rear diff whine, so far maybe helped but not enough miles to be sure.

Amsoil severe service in a squeeze pouch not plastic bottle. Much, much easier to use than the typical square bottle!

Surprising, in todays world they don't lower the lube weight for better fuel mileage.
