    squeeze bottles are easier to fully empty than rigid plastic, where you would need a funnel or transfer pump.

    So you were able to use a squeeze bottle in the front just fine? No tube or funnel?

    Yup just make sure your truck is level, crack fill plug loose, then drain plug fully, drain, replace washer (new one) and drain bolt, and then fill it via top fill hole until it starts to dribble out. About 1.5 liters (which is 1.6quarts). Replace the fill washer (new one) and bolt when closing up.

    You can roll up the squeeze bottles like a toothpaste tube to get fully empty. No funnel. Very easy.

    Yeah.
    Never used this kind of squeeze pouch, looks cool.

    According to the Valvoline site:

    • Recommended for conventional and limited slip differentials and non-synchronized manual transmissions where API GL-5 or API GL-4 fluid is specificed
    So it should be fine.

    I just use Supertech and a pump. It's good exercise.

    I really like the Ravenol bottles with the pull-out tube.

    Yeah, the fact that it called out manual transmissions (and I have an automatic) confused me. I guess GL-4 can be used in MT and GL-5 is used in differentials. I'm still trying to figure it all out. By the way, I know a limited-slip additive is not necessary for 3rd gens, but this product has the additive. Do you know if having the additive but not needing it would hurt the diff in any way?

    Nah, it'll be fine. Just don't put it in the transmission. A manual transmission is just a fancy gear box, which is why they use gear oil.

    You can use that on the rear and front diffs, and some people might use it on the transfer case, but Toyota specs a different oil for transfer cases. The Toyota stuff is expensive and hard to find. I would recommend using the Ravenol MTF-3 75W for the transfer case if you are doing that as well.

    Lucas may be good for Semi trucks but I wouldn't run it in this application, especially in cold climates. Just my 2 cents. Will it ruin your diff ? Not likely, just hurt gas milage it doesn't have the best flow numbers in cold weather. Lot of marketing hype behind some oils so do your research. Best to read oil forums for advise on lubricants. Don't listen to the guy behind the counter at the parts store either.
