How much oil do you put in a 2011 Tacoma differential? my manual calls for 3.12 qts, 4wd,base model,

4door,long bed. drained and was filling, and added 3 qts and about 6 oz more still haven't seen it oozing from the fill plug. took it for a ride all seemed good, no noise, no leaks I will check the level in a few days. how much is too much oil?

 

Add oil till it comes out the till hole, I have about a half liter left so I guess I used about 3.5 liters last time.

thanks for the reply, I saw online to fill until oil starts coming from the fill hole. But in the back of my mind I'm constantly seeing that 3.12 quarts(around 102 ounces) in my owners manual. In total 116 ounces is what it took to run out of the fill hole. I bought the truck New, and have neglected to change the diff oil,truck has 69000 miles. I was happy to see the oil I drained,was just a very dark amber color not black, with very little shavings on the magnet. Thank you again for the advice.

 

I fill it until it just starts to come out the fill port.
Then let it sit a few minutes, just in case I was filling it too fast.
Then squeeze in a little more until it comes out again.
Call it good and go.
