Sounds about right. I have noticed the rear diff oil gets nastier than the other boxes. T-case and front diff stay new-looking..... first rear diff change at 30K was fugly.

Amsoil has the bag setup for their diff fluid, which is why I went with their fluids when I changed mine out. I probably would have went with Valvoline had I known they used a bag system, saved myself a buck

Yeah....just can't bring myself to buy Amsoil. I'm sure it's good stuff. But I just don't see the value in it

Agree completely. I only bought because of the bag & the delta/premium to buy it was less than buying a hand pump + bottled gear oil. That's why I commented about Valvoline being sold in "bag form" haha

"especially since they spec that oddball 75W-85 gear oil"

I was about to change out all three of mine on my 2021 TRD DCLB when I saw this!?!
I have had problems in the past with my 2008 SportDCLB rear diff. That went at 13k mi and had to argue with the dealer to replace it, They said it was because of the gear oil I used. BS!
But with the new rear diff, I ran synthetic with LS modifier and got chatter. I went to DINO and dumped in a small bottle of MOPAR LS additive and never heard another noise. Changed all three every 30K and truck lasted 265k...until I got T-Boned by an illegal alien with no driver license! No injuries to me and the wife, thank you Toytec lift kit.

I used Mobil 1 75W90 in my 2014 DCLB Sport with no issues. Still used DINO with MOPAR LS additive in the rear Diff.
So I am a fan of DINO, but I will try running synthetic in my 2022 until I have a problem.

But from what I see, I guess I can run 75W90 in lieu of 75W-85 gear oil? I still have not seen 75W-85 on any shelf!

Thanks. I try not to post if I can’t add to the topic.
I seen your post as well. Good stuff.

    Don’t be fooled.
A lot of my “good advice” was learned by the “bad” decisions I made.

Likewise. My son once said, "Sometimes the burned finger is the best teacher". I thought that was pretty wise coming from a teenager at the time. I think I've learned more from my mistakes than I have from my successes.
