Plan on changing front and rear diffs and manual tranny with redline mt90 today (if available at local store). Stopping at dealer to get crush washers and theres a toss up on the transfer case fluid, I heard you can run the mt90 but should run the "toyota special fluid". Its only 1 quart
Anyone do all the fluid changes yet?

You're going with MT90 in the diffs? Bear in mind they require a GL5 and MT90 is GL4. I have MT90 in my transfer case and it is working well.

So it has to be a gl5 I take it. Dunno if amsoil makes it. Really would like to put quality oil in today seen as how its 37 degrees out and the ground is wet lol

Lots of options Mobil1 is readily available. I have redline 75-90 GL5 in my diffs, but that is a personal preference.

Planned on changing them. Im at 12k already and read few people have either been low or the oil has been pretty dirty

Haven't changed my transfer case oil but changed differential oil at 2500 miles using Royal Purple 90w. Been using this oil for years and love it.

Opinions? Longer drain interval with higher quality fluids that handle load and shearing better, or more frequent changes with less expensive fluids to deal with internal and external contaminants. Seems like the front diff, trans, and transfer case are easier on fluids and would be well served with top-shelf, but the rear might benefit from a short interval with a more economical choice.

There is a couple of threads on here where people asked the dealer if they used factory Toyota oil, and they got a letter back saying just make sure what you buy meets the minimum requirements.

I used to run Redline, but I switched to Amsoil. Can't go wrong with either.

When I drained the front diff it was pretty black and the magnet had a good size ball of sludge on it. That's with 14k almost all hwy.

I also read on here that the MT90 shifts noticeably better than factory.
