They are from OZ Racing. They were on clearance at Tirerack. Apparently OZ is big in the European off-road circuit but has never made it big in the US. I didn't want much poke and they are +44 offset.

I got a used no-name cap from a private seller for 1500 a few years ago. I'm expecting to spend in the neighborhood of 4k if/when I pop for a 2024.

edit: leaning toward this one but I want to see one in person first.

Hey guys. I wanted to chime in and add this in here, because it's applicable to this and may help people out if they can't find another solution.

This definitely will be the solution I use.

I am not sure which trims this is available for. I know you MUST be able to get it on the TRD Off Road because I've seen pictures of TRD Off Roads with it.. I checked the Off Road Premium Package and do not see it listed. This guy said it's an "option" on the Tundras.. It comes on the TRD Pro Tacoma standard..

I couldn't find anything on what it's available for but maybe it's doable aftermarket.

But what I wanted to say is that these two extra shark fins are receivers for a wireless trailer camera that you can get from Toyota, and the feed from that camera can be displayed on the digital rearview mirror.

So lets say you have a camper or something or maybe your rack setup does impede the digital rearview camera that's on the back of the cab of the truck. You can actually get a camera that doesn't need wires for video and you can wire it into the wiring of your camper or whatever you choose to wire it to, and then that solves the problem of the digital rear camera being blocked, and it works natively with the existing system.

Unfortunately I couldn't find which trims it comes with or how you get it, but good news is for this to even be a problem you have to have the premium package in the first place, so hopefully that's enough to get it.

Like I said I know you can get it on the TRD Off Road for sure. Just don't know how.

Update: What I'm talking about as far as "having it" or "getting it" with your Tacoma I mean the 2 extra shark fins that are the Wi-Fi receivers.

The camera itself is a product available aftermarket from Toyota, or perhaps from 3rd parties (not sure).. This guy on YouTube mentioned you can get both a rechargeable one that doesn't require power wiring, and a regular one that you wire into the truck's power.

If your Tacoma doesn't have the extra shark fins, it might be possible to get them and install them aftermarket and then flash the radio.

But again I'm not sure how Toyota works with this.. If they will flash the radio for new things added or if this is even possible. I just know this is the process with the new Jeeps.

I don't think the remote camera is available on the TRD OR. It is available on the Limited and above. I have a TRD OR Premium with every option except the detachable swaybar and I only have 1 Shark Fin. Maybe it can be added, but it's not an option off the lot. This thread was about the digital rearview that you can run instead of the standard. That camera is beside the bed camera in the 3rd brake light assembly.

This guy here says it's an option on the Tundras: https://youtu.be/QN82J4N4sfo?si=uawCJqfDUHguFW9J

He just said that every Tacoma trim can get it. I assume he means aftermarket since you can't order Toyotas custom. He says it's like $900. Not sure if that's just parts or parts and labor.

The thread subject is "digital camera relocation" which I dunno about others but to me it sounds like a PITA. I would much rather just get the trailer camera and use that since it is OEM and does not require relocating and rewiring stuff.

So if one wanted to remove whatever is obstructing the view they could just go back to using the regular camera without having to move it back.

I think it's included with the Premium package:

'Includes: 3D Multi-Terrain Monitor, selectable front, side and rear views...'

I've watched GG's video on the Tundra. How close was this to the installation in your Taco? (And thanks for posting.)

Does this need to be installed before the topper? Or does it matter?

That's talking about the regular rear-view camera I believe. It's hard to say which trims have it or not. I've found that you can't always trust what the builder / trim comparer says. I have noted that for the Tundra, for example, it shows that the Limited does not have a panoramic moon roof, and yet, I rode in a Tundra Limited yesterday that had a panoramic moon roof. :)

I mentioned this to the sales guy, he says it depends on what they decide to put on the truck.

The good news is I think that the extra fins can be added aftermarket. The guy in the previous video I posted said all Tacomas and Tundras can get it if they don't come with it. He said it costs like $900. This doesn't include the trailer camera which according to him comes in a rechargeable variety that has to be recharged before a trip via USB or something and one that is wired to the trailer's power, or in this case whatever power your topper / camper / whatever is hooked to.

Probably would be good to install it after, since you may be able to more easily conceal the wiring and route it properly, and if you have a camper with a power setup you can tie into that.

I would take specifics with a grain of salt though, and maybe search for it on Toyota. I've found most of the Toyota dealers aren't that knowledgeable about these things.. Probably because they sell the entire line of Toyota vehicles which most aren't off-road oriented.

But the package mentions the front and side cameras.

    Relocation would work as well.

I thought you were talking about the trailer camera which is an aftermarket camera you can buy from Toyota that connects to the 2 extra shark fins that are on some Tacomas. I brought this up a bit earlier in the thread another option for retaining the digital rearview mirror capability when the view of the rear view mirror camera is obstructed.

The trailer camera also displays in the digital rear view mirror. It's meant for trailers and such so that the driver can still see it. It's a wireless camera so you don't need to hook up a video feed wire. You just wire the camera to the trailer's power (or any other 12v source on the vehicle) and you can use the camera wirelessly.

The two extra shark fins are wi-fi receivers for the camera that connect the video feed to the digital rear view mirror and Infotainment screens.

It's just another option I thought some people might find useful, rather than relocating the OG camera or getting some 3rd party solution.

This would be an ideal solution for ex. for people who don't run a RTT constantly on their vehicle they can go back to the OG camera easily where as if you relocate it it's a lot harder to move it back.

You wouldn't remember if you saw 2x extra unused connectors up there when you pulled off the headliner? I've been researching a lot into the trailer cam system and it seems like aside from the wireless camera itself, the only other thing that's needed are those two sharkfins which hook up to a "Trailer Camera ECU" - which I believe is actually the same telematics control box that's used for the rearview digital camera as well. My gut tells me that the harness is already in the truck for those extra antennas, at least based on the TIS drawings, but wanted to know if you remember seeing them? Just before I rip apart my headliner and backseats, lol.

The connectors should look something like this. Brown in color.
