    If it were me I'd start cheap then work up...and make sure to buy a DSLR that uses lenses that will work with your next camera. The body is expensive, but lenses are even more...my first lense purchase cost nearly as much as the body.

    You can pick up a used canon 10d for 200 or so bucks...and whatever lenses you get for that will work with any newer EOS camera.
