Dude I cant begin to thank ya on how much input u have put in... Lol the pic that I have is of me and my 12 Gage... I've been around firearms for a while and this my first "handgun" but u just reminded me on the decocker which is nice... And makes the damn descions even harder... Lol... I have held and fired both and theY boh feel amazing to shoot... Granted the kimber is heavier... And the sig is lighter... And to be honest knowing my ass I will prolly own both lol... Later on In the future haha...

This is a hard decision. I have been there myself and would do it different if I had to do it over from owning both guns.
I have a Sig P220 in the combat frame and bought it first. I like the gun but it is different on how they have set up the sights to me. I have owned this one for about 8 months now. It also has the Sig night sites as well which are very nice. The Sig is setup for a range of 5 to 7 yrds from what Sig has told me as far as accuracy. Which is close shooting.
As for the 1911 I dont have a Kimber , but I do have a Springfield, called the Mil-Spec. Which has a trigger job and is Parkerized. I have put about 200 rounds thru this gun and like it a lot better than My Sig. One It fits my hand better, I like the feel of it better and it seems to me that the sites are setup to what I like to as far as distance.
So for me I would by the 1911 first then the Sig. But either way you will have 2 great pistols.

Thats what I would think but holding the sights on the target at 15 -20 yrds I was shooting 3 ft under the target. I talked to the dealer that I got the gun from and said I was to far away. So I was not satisfied with what he siad and called Sig myself and they siad the same thing. I needed to be closer for what the gun is setup at. I thought what BS but My 1911 is setup for the 20 yds plus and is accurate at that. So I dont know what to do about the Sig other than get adjustable sites which is what Im thinking of doing.

I really like them both, Kimber does make a sexy 1911, however i know u have to play with them more than almost every other 1911 on the market! I believe they have a external extractor and that can cause a few problems as long with to heavy springs! My good buddy i go shooting with has one and it shoots awesome but it took him 6-7 times at the range to get it dialed in and he has no problems now, it will only feed one hollow point correct but any normal ball is great!!! So saying that he loves it but it took time to get it perfect, if you have time and knowledge to get it right u can buy the Kimber, its a very nice gun! Out the box the Sig is prob unbeatable!!!! YOu can never go wrong with any SIG!!!!

great looking springfield... i like that old school style...

from my research it looks like they are both pretty accurate... granted the kimber is heavier and all...

u gotta point.... tell me this though fellas.... is it good to use reloads in the 1911 or use only factory ones...???

Of course; though for me it depends on who did the reloading.

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
The majority of ammo I shoot are factory reloads.
BVAC, Black Hills, HSM...all excellent quality and very accurate and reliable.
Especially when an action pistol course makes brass picking stoopid.
    Ask the 38 super guys.
