Dim high beam icon on dash without high beams on

So here's an odd one, searched but couldn't find anything on it. I started up my 2014 today and the high beam dash icon light was on. Whoops, pulled the high beams back but then they actually come on and the icon goes fully bright. Turned high beams off, light goes to about half brightness. It's dim but definitely still on. Driving about 30 minutes and it starts getting more and more dim until it's out and everything works as usual. Then a bit later I randomly look back down at the dash and it's back on at about half brightness. Anybody ever had anything like this happen? I feel like I vaguely remember something like this happen a long time ago for a very short time but it just went away. Any ideas?

 

Assuming the high beam on/off is controlled completely within the stalk, maybe the contacts in the stalk? Do you have any Taco owner friends nearby and you could try swapping stalks to see if that cures it?
