I'm wiring up some switches and I'd like the illumination to dim/brighten with the rest of the dash lights. What's a good wire to tap into? Preferably under the steering wheel or drivers side.
    Thanks in advance.

I know the trip reset knob near the odometer should have a dimmer wire connected... Not sure how all the electrical works but it should be there. If you twist that little reset botton to the left or right it changes the odometer brightness... Try connecting to that?

I'm sure that dimmer isn't an analog potentiometer though. It's sending a control signal and the actual illumination voltage or duty cycle is from a controller.

Any idea which color wire? If not, I'm sure I can figure it out.

Adding switch for light bar on drivers side in cubby panel looks like the tan wire that goes into bed light and tan that goes to auto lights is the dimmer wire, but it brightens on the switch when I dim the dash lights.. Any insight

Yup that did it. I want to add some courtesy lights at drivers feet, passengers and backseat can I also use this tap location for that as well?

Max on that circuit is 7.5 amps...I've no clue what the additional load would be for the unknown added lights you'd be installing...in theory, yes.

I’m confused on the wiring to get it to light full brightness when the lights are off then dim once the headlights go on. I got the dim working with the ILL+(light green) wire. It looks like the OP has it working the way I would like to get it working but I can only get it to turn on when the lights are on or I hit the button to activate the ARB compressor. Or... Am I totally dumb and that’s how it’s supposed to work?

I realize that paragraph above is kind of confusing. So in short: I’m missing the full brightness when the headlights are off, all other functions are working.

The OEM have a ILL +/- (light green/tan). The CH4x4 only has 1 wire for the illumination or dash lights. What am I missing?

    Thanks in advance!

Some of the CH4x4 rocker switches are Carlig switches. Without knowing which you have...:notsure:

I have the 4 wire push switch similar to the one above. Green/red/red/black.

Sorry I don't know if those are dimming compatible...

The website doesn’t say anything about it being dimmable. Good call! Lol.
