    Oh look, another mod....
Damnit. I misread the title of this thread. I thought it said "BLACKLIGHT". I was like "Oh shit, now there's a bad-ass mod. It'll be like I'm back in college!"

    From their website,

This harness is completely plug-and-play. Simply connect it inline between the vehicle harness and headlight harness and then connect the female spade connector to the male spade connector on the fog light wire adapter. No need to tap any wires to power the backlight!

Right, I saw that. Not seeing where it would actually go in between the vehicle harness and the headlight harness.

It's plug and play, so you'll find your headlight cable, unplug it and then put the harness you bought from DD in between. Both the harness coming from the vehicle and the headlight cable should plug in to the harness you purchased.

That's my understanding from the instructions they gave.

That harness is for the halogen projector headlights with the L shaped DRL. You have the OEM 2020+ headlights, they have a completely different plug.

That is cool, if I am understanding the wiring correctly that harness allows the backlight to be on automatically with the DRL. I have an older harness, so I had to buy a seperate kit with relay and switch to toggle between backlight and fog.

Your fogs should have the 2 pin to 4 pin harness and the wire with the red plug. The harness you have plugs in between the headlights and the harness going to the headlamp. Then the wire with the plug should plug into the wire on the 2 to 4 pin harness. This way the backlighting is on with the DRL and then the fogs come on as normal.

i am not 100% but I believe this is how it should work

Edit , I missed the LED lamps you have. Not sure if it would work like Chris said. I’ll take the, if not :D

Good point. I didn't even notice that part of the original post lol.

If that's the case, Diode Dynamics needs to specify on their website it doesn't work on OEM LED headlights.

Thanks Chris! Was losing my mind and I agree, it should specify on the website.

    Enough for now
Any chance you’re looking to sell the harness?

I have the DD SS3 max fogs and didn’t want to splice wires to do the backlighting.

Sure I’ll sell since I can’t use it. I already contacted DD for an RMA.

Unfortunately, unless you swapped in your OEM LED headlamps, this harness will not work for you. You will have the single connector on the back of the headlamp.

You would have two options, splice into the original harness... not really recommended... or talk to @daveeasa and see if he might be able to assist you in a break out harness to allow plug and play.

Paul said he was gonna get this out there. Nice to see it available. Note it won’t fire off DRL, based on what I’m reading. Just parking light.

For LED from the factory trucks you can do a single LED T harness and dual DD SS3 harness or dual LED T’s and pair of single SS3’s. That’s the FBC menu options.

or just pretend no backlight, cheaper and easier.

Also, @Diode Dynamics , you definitely should update the product info to note it’s only compatible with trucks that came from the factory with halogen headlights. That’s an important distinction to make to avoid confusion.

On the stalk after DRL or when stalk is Auto and ambient light sensor indicates darkness.

The backlight has a 1 pos amp female connector. Hence to supply that you would either use a 1 pos male to bare wire or or spade or something plug and play which provides a 1 pos amp male.
