Yep, that's all you have to do to disable the DRL and install the Diode Dynamics flasher. The Smart Tap flasher does a lot of cool things. I did it on my '06. The part# for the grey plastic jumper block is 82671-30360. It's about $8 from the dealer. Then if you want real park lights(the ones next to the grille) install a 3rd wire in the socket and connect it to the corner marker lights.

Stupid question but when you say DRL are we talking the orange markers right beside the front grill? Or does that mean the headlights on low?

The Daytime Running Lights are the turnsignals lit constantly. The sockets have park light and turn signal terminals, but only the turnsignal terminals are wired up.

So all I need to do to disable my DRL unplug the Y harness. Then plug in the diode dynamic flasher to make it work?

The front turn signal sockets have 3 terminals, but the wiring harness that plugs into them, only have 2 wires. The 3rd terminal is for the dim filament in the bulb.

The grey plastic jumper block is just a hunk of plastic with metal pieces that connect terminals together. There is no wiring. You just plug it in.

I guess ill have to look it up to see what you are talking about with the 3rd wire. I was trying to save myself a buck and wire my own jumper.

You can probably sell the DTRL harness and flasher for more than $8 to somebody that actually wants DTRL. (Canadians)

Back of the fuse block. Post #82 above^. 1st pic is the parts for no DRL. The 2nd pic is the parts for with DRL. If you want to use the Diode Dynamics flasher, you need the grey jumper cap shown in the 1st pic. It's about $8 from the Toyota dealer.

So, it's only about $10 down the drain. Buy the Smart Tap flasher and go on with life. I just bought a $29 thingy that it turns out I don't need.

The 2 coolest things about the Smart Tap flasher are the wig wag hazards and the night time illumination after locking the doors. I have been beside the freeway with the wig wags on and I can definitely say the people slow down more for alternating lights. The night time illumination is really nice if you have to walk a little ways in the dark, especially with really bright LEDs.
