Alright so life got busy and I’m just now getting around to this.

So where exactly do people recommend to dash tap for the blue and black wires from the switch? And how are we going to ground the black harness wire... your diagram appears to indicate it is not used in this set up?

The black ground on the harness going to the original switch is meant to provide a ground to the led in that switch. Since you're using a different switch than the one the harness provided, you'll not use it.(you could but then the lights in the switch will not dim with the dash.)
The wires from the light harness you'll be using white and blue. (fused power from the harness and back to the relay coil.) Blue to green; white to red.

Okay got it, thank you. And for the fuse taps? I’m going to mount drivers side, so I have read various posts of where I can use the unused fuses i.e. sunroof .... can you advise on that? And what each wire, blue and black from switch, should use what fuse?

The harness has a fuse already. The switch doesn't need additional fuse taps.
Switch illumination is Blue & Black which tie into Beige & Green of the dash illumination circuit.
On your added lamp harness, verify which color Blue or White brings power from the fuse at the battery. The prior info was for a different aftermarket switch. Red on the switch you are using is the incoming juice side. Green is the outgoing juice to the relay coil to actuate it.

In keeping much simpler, tie black to added lamp harness black. (no dimming)
Blue to vehicle beige will get switch illumination when parking lights are selected.

Sorry I’m not quite understanding still. I know the harness has a fuse but by add a fuse I meant tap into the fuse box in the cab to illuminate the switch as you said, via the blue and black wires of the switch. So what I am asking is for the dash illumination green and beige, where would that be located exactly? Are you saying tap into these wires?

Yes that is what I meant, asking where to add a fuse exactly. But you indicated before that I would need to add a fuse for both the black and blue wires of the switch for illumination, so I would add into two fuses no? You highlight 5A...for the blue switch wire I am assuming.

But then in your post 25 you say “tie black to added lamp harness black”, but before you said I did not need to use the black harness wire with this new harness as I am not using the included switch. So should the black wire from the switch be added to a fuse or not?

IF you tie the black of the switch to the black of the harness you MIGHT get an always ON indication. You won't know until you connect it. The reason is that the harness is connected to the battery and not to an ignition on circuit.

Okay and is always on problematic for these lights/the switch?

If I find that its always on and that is unwanted so I need to add a fuse to solve that issue, which fuse do you suggest using for the black switch wire?

It would not be the black wire of the switch. You'd need to not use the input wire of the harness (blue or White, you'll need to verify) since the issue is constant (battery) power to the harness.
Add-a-fuse to any IGN source to the red wire of the switch. i.e.; Power Outlet. smallest low profile you can get, since it's just to actuate the relay coil. 1-3 Amps.

Insulate the input wire from the harness.

@caribe makaira Is what you just described not the same as this past post?

But if I do not mind there being constant power to the switch, then black to black is fine and I would just need to add a fuse for the blue switch wire. Yes?

    Yes

No, if you don't mind constant ON, then use all wires from the harness. You'd only need to add switch dash illumination via add-a-fuse to PANEL fuse.
