Dipstick the worst to read after oil change

    If you think you see the line but aren't sure, try sticking it back in but leave it out a 1/4 inch or so, then pull the stick and see if the line moves down the same distance. It puts the line in a slightly different spot and can help you make sure you're seeing things correctly

    This sounds like the most workable solution I've read so far.
    The oil in the pan will coat the INSIDE of the plastic tube, and not be subject to picking up oil residue on the walls of the dipstick tube.
