That thinking is exactly the problem. The idea that someone can force you to do things on your own property is ridiculous (within reason, of course). Too many folks are preoccupied with what everyone else is doing these days, how about minding your (generalization) own business instead of whining about what someone is doing on their own property?

If an ordinance even exists barring dirt in your driveway, that also is a problem. What is a driveway for, surgery? OBVIOUSLY it will be dirty.

Welcome to socialism, boys and girls.

Yeah, we have one of those now. Off the regular crumbling driveway, we have a mud pit that used to be covered in large gravel, but is now only gravel-ish. Whatever must the people on our street think.... Oh wait, they know we're crazy because we drive over the lawn in pretty much all of our vehicles. We use it as a parking lot too. :D

I was down in a neighborhood called Pt. Loma earlier which is a pretty affluent neighborhood near downtown San Diego and even some cars there were parked on the lawns. Crazy stuff.

Sounds like it's time to do a tech session at your house. After 30+ trucks' worth of people change their oil, put lifts on the trucks, show off their sound systems and drink beer, they'll think back to the good old days when they only had to worry about dirt in your driveway.

I would seriously be down if I didn't live at the end of a small cul-de-sac!

My Dad gets extraordinarily pissed if I get dirt on our driveway. Its just dirt. It makes no sense to me.

I support the car wash + death metal idea. Give your neighbors something to complain about.

Derek, do this, this'll give em somthing to complain about.

fill up a trashcan with water in the middle of the night and go to thier house with that trashcan and lean it on their front door and ring the doorbell alot so it wakes them up and they come get the door (run away of course)... and when they open it, well you can imagine what will happen...

whipper snapper, didn't he say he was 55 years old? personally I think everyday you should come home with a bag of soil and pour it down your drive way with a sign in front saying where did this dirt come from???

I can't freaking believe this... Calling the police because you have dirt on your driveway.... Get a life (them)

You should find a friend with a quiet dump truck... have him dump a pile of dirt on all your neighbors (he'd have to yours as well) driveways and then you can call the police on all of them for having dirt on their driveways. Make sure you are seen EARLY cleaning yours up... so you can say I don't want the dirt police visiting my house again....

Do you have covenants like Chris does? That say no dirt on the driveway?
