What if your old complaining neighbor is someone like clint eastwood in grand torino?? He'll show you young punks where the pepper grows.

There's an old saying that over the years I've learned is true: Keep your friends close, your enemies closer.

Don't do anything for revenge. When you see him, smile and wave. Say "how are you today sir", not sarcastically, just friendly.

It'll have a couple results: first, he probably won't call on you again. second, he'll wonder why the hell you're smiling, and it'll bug him.

You could go the other way and be nasty. But then every time a fly farts in his yard, you're gonna be the one he blames...

You leave your name with the cops when you call it in but they only time they make you sign anything is if the complaint turns formal. For example, my wife called the cops on a house that had a band playing really loud amplified music (they were about two houses down and was so loud we almost couldn't think even with all the windows and doors closed). Plus it was crappy Reggae music. The cops went out there and asked them to turn it down. As soon as the cops left, they turned it back up. My wife called again and they told her she'd have to file a formal complaint (sign). At which time they went in and arrested the guy for refusing to comply.

    That's more like it. :p

That's humble enough to consider. :D

It wouldn't be destroying or ruining everything, just random as hell.

    Hmmm...

    Freaking HOA people.

 I actually did that earlier, I smiled and waved, but then I peeled out. :)

FWIW, 3 years ago, my Buddy kept being harassed by his HOA because the paint on his house was faded. We knew who was complaining, and I had one of our Dump trucks from my work dump 10 Cubic yards of manuer in the dudes driveway. To this day, my buddy hasnt received any more calls.
