Dirt King Ball Join Upper Control Arms

who all is running them? How do they Hold up? do you wish you would of went with another brand? or are you glad you went with Dirt King UCA?

 

I put them on after my spc's died and I havnt looked back. They do have alot of added caster which isn't ideal for maximum tire clearance but i have a cmc 295's and -38 wheels and it still cleared

I almost bought them last Black Friday along with the lowers from Hotshotoffroad. Maybe on the next sale. Elevate has some real similar.

I was looking at Elevate to, but there ball joint tube arms....

 

They have both uniball and ball joint tubular versions. Billet uniball versions too.

Elevate claims they're oe style ball joints. Not sure if that means oem ball joints or other. I believe dirt king uses Moog ball joints. Moogs are a little beefier.

Interesting that both companies utilize the non grease able bushings. Probably the same part.

edit: the dirt kings are 750 the elevates are 600 ($150 difference)

 

Increased caster via UCA's push the top of the spindle towards the back of the truck, thus pushing the tire closer to the cab mount. Alternatively, increased caster via the cam bolts on the LCA pushes the bottom of the spindle forward, thus pushing the tire farther away from the cab mount.

 

I don't think you can go wrong with either the $750 dirt kings or the $600 elevate's. For $150 more the dirt kings come with a sealed cap and beefier Moog ball joints.

 

Ill be going with DK here soon, elevate you have to buy those caps like another 40$

 

I also swapped from SPCs after they took a shit. My DKs have been awesome. Good bushings, good ball joints, I’ve got 12000 miles on em and they have been trouble free. Would recommend

I stand corrected, the Elevate versions use Moog ball joints too per their website photos.

 

The price is about a wash too. If I add the $50 elevate caps to the cart and $55 for sales tax they're only $45 or so cheaper than the dirt kings.

 

This^ as far as i know accutune is the best option for max clearance outside of spc. But i didn't feel like changing upper controls arms every oil change. So spc's were no longer an option.

 

So I don't know shit about ball joints, but what am I looking at on this picture, to identify moog ball joint?

 

Zoom in on the picture and you'll see "MOOG" embossed on the rubber boot of the ball joint.
