As far as a radio, antenna, and accessories. I run a cobra 19 DXIV, a firestik II, and 18' coax. I have a demello bed cleat bar and that serves as my mount, which i have grounded straight to the frame. Right Channel Radios is where i recommend to go, they have pretty much everything you need, and they have places to click for learning (they call it the learning center), and a link to a help and troubleshooting center.

I think I might do Ham eventually, but I ain't got time for that right now. Gotta deal with a bunch of vacations and trips, plus the boo coming home in the middle of June. Once it settles down a bit, I'll look into getting licensed there.
