JBA uppers have more articulation than any uniball upper on the market, it's one of their biggest selling points. They're just chevy ball joints. I'm running extended travel ADS on mine and they have more than enough flex to give, check them out.

You obviously know most of my opinion here already, but I'd buy ADS again, they've been great. Not that it *really* matters to me cause I don't do the baja with my truck, but they are still the only big shock company that uses parts out of the same buckets for their full on race suspension that you'll get in the box for your consumer vehicle. I like that. I also likely won't buy Fox suspension again just because their customer service is literal garbage, but the products work great!

As for the last couple hours of comments in here:

I found a Mastercraft CXT AT for under $170 on the zon, of course, it's not available right now...

Not the ideal MT spare, but it would for it's purpose. To get me home.
But yea, Bighorn will be what I get.

Its reallu a bad "this or that" discussion but I've used my winch 10 times in 6 years. Not all of those have been to recover a vehicle. I use my locker every time my foot hits the gas on a trail. If you want to wheel better, you buy a locker first. If you want to recover better, you buy a winch first. If you wheel alone, a winch should probably be very high priority. If you wheel with others, it can be dropped down the list quite a bit. You can always use a locker. Every second of every trail, a locker will help you. You can go many trails without ever using a winch and can/will be completely useless for most of its offroading life. If you only had 1 option and couldn't get the other, I'd go winch because you can wheel, get stuck and recover yourself with a winch. You can wheel, get stuck and stay stuck with a locker. But if you only had the option to buy 1 right now and do the exact wheeling you do WITH other people, I'd go locker every mothafuckin time!!!

Good clutch over all though. Haha

The winch is also excellent for pulling shrubs out of your flower beds!

That's the thing! The wheeling alone thing.

There's many many backroads around here where people clearly just turn off and take off through the woods at will. Without signs for No Trespassing/POSTED/etc. So tempting to take off one of these trails, but won't for fear of no self-recovery.

I prefer the taste of tree bark and rust off my cast iron a little better or I would totally pick it up. Then throw it in my pelican

The funny thing is I have a sweet Pelican case and 3 Rotopax. Ex lady must've researched truck stuff for dickhead's and those things popped up. I love the pelican case, its built strong. I got expensive junk for absolutely free so I'll roll with it. Only useful Rotopax is the water jug. 2 Gallon of gas barely fills a weed eater and you can only fit a purple ARB strap in the storage one until it's full to compacity.

Pelican stuff truly is some of the best product you can buy of that type. They're just a victim of their own consumer base

That's with any hobby. There's always a have to have item that people are gonna throw victim to. I use the Piss outta mine. Used it in the Rzr, Truck, tote my camera gear around in it. Its got scratches and gashes all over it from falling out. Still works like a charm.

I was humoring myself by re-reading the last unsolicited old man rant and now I feel like I really missed out on a gem with whatever the 'FJ/Land Crusier thing' was.

I just want to see the debate between one of the ugliest things on 4 wheels and one of the most overengineered vehicles ever built on this planet. Linky?

That build thread was interesting enough to hold my attention for like 2 seconds, but since he's already got a poll that reads like turbo fanboy central, I'm not sure you're going to be getting unbiased, well-reasoned advice there.

Since I didn't read it maybe you can fill me in- does he wheel? Is he regularly at ~4k rpm on the trail, where he's going to be getting max boost? What happens to turbos when youre sitting in a mudhole? What happens to your engine components when it's 300 degrees in the bay cause your stuff is full of mud? Why did TRD make a Supercharger for your truck but not a Turbo? Why do little baby turbos sound like queefs when they blow off but superchargers sound like banshees all the way through the rev range? What is love?

I don't actually know what you're trying to do with your truck here. If you just want more onramp speed, go for the turbo!

PS: A supercharger will help you get moving without murdering your clutch...

tl dr, will reread in just a sec...

I'm looking for a definite answer to when the SC would start to make power. not seeing anything much before 3k rpm and it's not much boost.

I've been reading a shitload of posts in the Turbo BS thread, for quite a while. There are several 2.7 boosted guys. The OZBoost kit is awful, it seems. The SC kits don't bring in power soon enough.

Idk if @dirtdigginjoe wheels or not :notsure: Let him answer that.
He has 1-2psi at 2-2.5k RPM at current "stock" fuel/ecu system.
TRD did not make a SC for the 2.7, only the v6 trucks. There were no forced induction 2.7s in the states. I'm sure Japan has some kind of monster Hilux, though. They always get the good shit!
I'm sure things will get warm being covered in our awesome silty clay.

I want more power, period. Across the band. Even if it's not gonna do much in the woods, it's still there for after the woods.
