Thought of one MORE thing to check. Make sure pilot bearing is seated ALL the way in. By NOT being all the way in, it can press against the input shaft and "drive" it as the engine turns. Highly UNlikely, but have seen it happen.

Here's one more (even more far fetched) idea....

Do a look up of correct parts.

Check parts #s of what you were sent.

Remote possibility of a wrong part, however slim of a chance....

Nothing to confirm its reaching full extension tho? like vs before condition?
Its just stretching the boot out all the way?

    Other Ideas:
    1. Did you disconnect the slave cylinder during install? (if yes, the bleeding procedure with the damper is hideously dumb, better to remove imo)
    2. Throw-out lever arm installed correctly? (should be obvious, but if it is not set on the little socket thing correctly, travel will be very limited, and it probably won't make funny sounds)
    3. as others have said could be the wrong parts, or in some cases, if not OE replacement grade parts, it may have required a flywheel to "complete" the set, I've only seen this in HD sets for high HP applications tho... so probably not the case
    4. the pressure plate may not be all the way seated, you may have torqued the bolts properly, but if only one of the pins is seated, you'll get an incomplete disengage and engage, and you may have F'd the pressure plate... (also should be obvious looking at the clutch, trans should vibrate more than usual)

Did you also replace the throw-out bearing?
If you have an earlier 2nd gen, did you put a throw-out bearing support collar in?
