I'm not really sure on the weight, they used a forklift to put in on at the dealer I bought it from and I haven't taken it off. It's got to be at least 200lbs though. I'm pretty sure it's heavier than the fiberglass top. Mine is also taller than cab height even without the rack on top.

Swap tires, put skids back on (was letting nature clean the underbelly a bit), throw in carrier bearing drop just because I blew $20 on it, then go try out our new clutches at Rush! @2TRunner @Chelle94

That sounds more fun than me adding to my rats nest. Always on 12v socket and usbs with a side of cb power!

No go on the contractor top. Wasn't feeling the 2 hour drive, one way, in case I was disappointed. Had some doubts it was in all that great of shape, seller ended up at least wiping it off a bit and sent better pics, was in good condition. Also, had starting troubles after the lil romp at ROR with @2TRunner and didn't wanna risk a 4 hours round trip on a questionable starter/alternator. I'm blaming the sloppy shit we got into on the green and blue trails, no mud on the hard stuff. Neither of us were really ready to wear out the clutches just yet, then it rained for about 30 minutes and didn't help anything at all.

Hosed the truck off and about 50lbs of mud later, it starts easily again. There's still quite a bit of mud left under there in various places.
Fuck mud. IH8MUD. Seriously, over that shit! Gimme water crossings, creeks, dirty water with a hard bottom. FUCK MUD! Driveway looks like shit and needs shoveled, more than I did yesterday.

Found a Raider Cap, unsure of the exact model, much closer to me and cheaper and only needs some touch up paint (i.e. I'm gonna rattle can that thing whatever color I want). Already has cross bars on top too. Heading there after work today.

I think you 're beginning to understand my attitude towards mud. Not that I CANT do it, just dont want to do it. Over it 40 years and 17 trucks ago. Was fun (if drunk enough) got less fun in short order.

Give me hills and rocks now

I don't mind some mud. Just the loose sloppy junk we found ourselves in. It wasn't even water on top of light mud. It was a heavy thick casserole clay mud.
Mud got me stuck the first time out there Saturday. Mud is in my driver brake and made a terrible racket this morning! Mud is still laying on my IFS skid and won't come out. It's freaking EVERYWHERE! :annoyed:
Second time I got hung up was due to longer wb, sliders making me wider at the body than Chris, and I lifted off the throttle a bit more than I should've. Also mud.

Also...Leer and ARE caps are lighter and still strong. My ARE is 138lbs. Even with suspension to handle weight, it's not a desired quality for overall performance.

I waited 3 years for the right deal to come along....probably could have sped that up....but, point is....the right cap at the right price will come along. Then jump.

Too many ways to have fun that DONT suck.

I drive around stuff that likely DOES suck.

My fun is watching others do the sucking!

I'd like a contractor top, for the storage and less chance of shattering a side window because they usually don't even have them. I don't like removing my tail gate, though. It's a good seat and table.
I think I'll be happy with the Raider topper. This seller was actually more involved in, well, selling.

Leer and ARE (and others) make 2 models of contractor caps. Either windoors or solid panel doors. Local Termite guy has the Leer version on his trucks. I considered them. Wanted more conventional look with sliding glass.

Would not want to lose tailgate.

There's a business right across the highway from work that sells ARE. I talked to him at legnth. He said to avoid breaking glass, allow cap some ability to move....ie. dont clamp down too tight and thats why you use the rubber between bed and cap....When bed flexes, cap can move independently. (Albeit very slightly)

He claims 35 years of installs without a come back with broken glass...may be coincidence....may be he knows what he speaks of.

I had a Leer cap on my Tundra. 5 years of craziness and no broken windows... It can be done. + "no fault glass breakage" on Ky auto ins....covered no deductible even if it would break. Just have to add cap on insurance.

Start a pile somewhere with all the "trail leavings". Some day you can have your own private mountain top resort.

I'm looking into getting weather stripping for the above reasons. Some thick stuff. Sourced from wherever, or the Raider folks

Before me and Sandy met, I still had my house in Indiana. I lived there 22 years. I had a spot next to my shop where I washed all my 4wds and dirt bikes. Over that 22 years the ground level raised about 10".

When I first started wheeling it was refered to as "muddin'". That's essentially all everyone wanted to do.

I'm pretty much burnt out on working on muddy shit. Reason #1 why I keep everything so clean now days. Outgrew that shit long time ago....

Keeping it clean isn't so much the issue. It's the build-up of mud in places that happen to be where I'm laying when working on the truck, falling into my eyes. But I agree with ya, I liked mud once or twice, got a taste of more technical wheeling and that's my jam.
