    I voted get rid of them but be careful, with it being almost 3 yrs old if the paint has faded slightly you'll see where the badge was. Instead of black have you thought about a different color like maybe red or something?

    I did White Horse's blue to be different & he couldn't debate cause his is an '11 & you would definitely see where they were.

    I did his with plasti dip. Super easy & with enough coats it's pretty durable, I did 5 coats.
    Any over spray that might happen comes right off.

    I edited my post. All you do is tape it off about an inch past the badge & then use news paper to protect from over spray. After about 5 coats you let it dry & when you peel the tape off the plasti dip thats beyond the badge comes right off. The edge of the badge creates like a cut off & then inside the letters I use a tooth pick to get it out. It won't scratch the paint. And hey if you mess up or don't like it it peels off, the key to it peeling off easy is having sprayed plenty of coats. The thicker it is the easier it will be to take off.

    If I go to the trouble of removing them to paint them, they're gonna stay off most likely.
    Okay, that makes better sense now.
    I've done wheels before and yes, the thicker the coat, easier it peels off.

    The stores around me are pretty limited on colors, mainly black & white. They have a bunch online including glossifier, metalized & pearlizer. If you have a Pep Boys by you they may have multiple colors.
